David is an award-winning UK and international national cyber security expert and the Managing Director of Beyond Blue, with over 30 years of cyber and information security expertise. David has held senior roles as the Head of Cyber and Space for the Ministry of Defence, KPMG’s Global Head of Cyber Future and the Chair of the Scottish National Cyber Resilience Advisory Board guiding the implementation of the country’s cyber resilience strategy.
In recognition of his service to national security following 9/11 he was awarded an OBE, he was named Personality of the Year at the Cyber Security Awards in 2018, European Business Continuity Consultant of the Year in 2022, and Scottish Cyber Leader of the Year in 2025.
David's extensive expertise and leadership continue to shape the UK's approach to cyber resilience and security.
Paul has more than 30 years of experience leading some of the UK's most demanding and highly technical national security programmes at the highest government levels. He is distinctly qualified to understand the evolving threat environment, as well as having an exceptional track record of driving and delivering technology change in complex organisations.
In recognition of his contributions to science and technology, Paul was elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2013, where he is now the lead Trustee for National Security and Chairs the Enterprise Committee.
Paul was awarded a CBE in 2023 in King Charles III’s first New Year’s Honours list. The citation reads “lately science and technology adviser to the Ministry of Defence; for public service”. Paul was appointed to the Prime Minister’s Council for Science and Technology in January 2025. Paul is a non-executive Director on the Defence Technology and Innovation Board in the Ministry of Defence and a lay member of Council at Loughborough University.
Alongside his role as Chair of Beyond Blue, Paul is currently a Director of Morgan Stanley International PLC and Morgan Stanley Investment Management. He is a member of the Technology Advisory Board to NatWest Group, and Chair of Interrupt Labs Ltd.
Alicia is a skilled and accomplished cyber resilience professional specialising in operational resilience, preparing organisations for crisis response and recovery.
Alicia leads Beyond Blue’s operational resilience work, predominantly within financial services, and she has established industry-leading and award-winning scenario testing methodologies with clients. She has also trained and exercised senior leaders in crisis scenarios and advised organisations during cyber crises on effective communication strategies and their approach to operational recovery.
Alicia works with clients to mature their operational resilience beyond just compliance with regulation. She’s focused on initiatives that help clients understand their blind spots, invest in the areas that will make the biggest difference to their overall resilience posture and report the story of an organisation’s resilience journey effectively and concisely to Boards and Regulators.
Carl has over 25 years of leadership experience in cybersecurity and telecommunications. He specialises in critical national infrastructure and has previously advised the Cross Market Operational Resilience Group (CMORG) and the UK’s Department of Digital Communications, Media and Sport on resilience and failure scenarios with the telecoms sector and their potential impact on the digital economy.
He has significant experience of delivery of large scale cyber transformation programmes for government and telecommunications sectors; and in depth knowledge of providing a breadth of certification and assurance services across defence, government, utilities and telecommunications sectors for both products and services. In addition to Carl has led an engagement for NCSC to co-develop Principles Based Assessment under the Cross Domain Solutions programme.
James is a seasoned expert in Operational Risk, Resilience and Compliance and is well-considered as a trusted advisor, with extensive experience in designing and embedding best-in-class risk and control frameworks.
At Beyond Blue, James has used his knowledge to deliver client solutions across Identity and Access Management (IAM) Privileged Access Management (PAM) Information Security, Data Privacy (including DLP) and regulatory initiatives such as NIS2 within the manufacturing sector.
Before that he spent 25 years in leadership roles across non-financial risk disciplines within the Financial Services industry. He’s also a qualified mentor who’s supported numerous start-ups and charities across the third sector.
Ed is a technical cybersecurity expert boasting 20 years of industry experience, with 14 of those years devoted to serving the UK government in various roles related to international cyber affairs. His forte lies in leveraging both offensive and defensive technical capabilities to safeguard and enhance the UK’s cyber infrastructure on a global scale.
Lewis is an accomplished Principal Consultant with >10 years of experience, ready for his next challenge to leverage skills across a range of roles throughout the software delivery lifecycle and IT resiliency consulting. Lewis specialises in supporting clients in their resiliency journey, focusing on implementing enterprise-wide and specific recovery strategies. Lewis was an Award winner as an early professional who has developed multi-award-winning consultants. He has a proven track record of successfully delivering regulatory IT and transformation projects and programmes. Lewis enjoys working in an agile environment providing thought leadership in continued improvement of their client’s resiliency of IT systems, architecture, and his processes.
Jodie is a driven and results-orientated cyber security professional with extensive experience across both public and private sectors. She specialises in helping organisations prepare for and respond to incidents, from large-scale cyber attacks to operational disruptions, with a core focus on innovative and immersive crisis exercising and operational resilience scenario testing.
She has led numerous high-impact initiatives, including cyber tabletop exercises, complex scenario testing, and substitution analysis, enabling clients to strengthen their response capabilities and resilience under pressure.
With a strong track record delivering resilience excellence for some of the world’s largest banks, Jodie brings expertise in cyber security and data protection across multiple industries, including government, finance, and retail. Her academic background includes a BSc in Criminology with Investigations, complemented by first-hand crisis experience. Early in her career, she was awarded a Chief Constable’s Commendation for personal responsibility and decisive action during a major police incident.
Wasim is a focused and accomplished IT professional with over 20 years of experience in designing and delivering secure, resilient technology solutions.
He has a strong track record of defining strategies to address complex technical challenges, with a natural aptitude for optimisation and cyber risk reduction. Wasim has led global teams and contributed to mission-critical initiatives across a range of industries.
Sam is an ambitious and proactive cyber security professional with extensive experience in the financial sector.
Prior to joining Beyond Blue, he served as a Security Product & Delivery Manager within the Chief Security Office at Barclays PLC, where he led key programmes aimed at enhancing the organisation’s security capabilities and posture.
At Beyond Blue, Sam leads multiple client engagements focused on Operational Resilience, Crisis Exercising, and Resilience by Design—helping organisations build robust, adaptable systems to prepare for and navigate crisis scenarios. Outside of his professional role, Sam serves in the British Army Reserves as a member of the Royal Corps of Signals, specialising in Communication Infrastructure and Electronic Warfare.
Nicholas is a highly accomplished resilience and risk professional who has delivered industry-leading solutions for several major clients, including large financial institutions and national governments. He has a core focus on resilience metrics and reporting, scenario-based testing, and systemic risk in financial services. In addition, Nicholas has worked with clients to develop pioneering cyber risk quantification solutions and supported national governments to develop strategies and polices in support of embedding infrastructure resilience.
Alison is an experienced information governance and data privacy professional with 18 years of expertise across risk management disciplines including business continuity, cybersecurity, information security, and data protection. Her approach is proactive and pragmatic, with a strong track record of promoting data awareness and compliance across multiple industries.
Leah is a technically accomplished and strategically minded cybersecurity professional with expertise in ethical hacking, threat intelligence, and cyber crisis simulation. She has delivered impactful solutions across research, critical infrastructure, and professional services, with a focus on cyber resilience, scenario design, and AI integration. Jennifer is a seasoned professional in business continuity, risk management, and resilience. She has supported various sectors in addressing complex resilience challenges. Jennifer holds an MBA in Risk and Resilience and a BSc in Disaster Management and Emergency Planning and is a member of the Business Continuity Institute, reflecting her academic commitment to resilience.
Rayhaan is a tenacious and driven cyber and resilience professional with experience supporting national cyber risk initiatives, delivering cyber assessments and enhancing resilience for organisations across financial services, the non-profit sector, and other complex environments. Amy is a dynamic and analytical thinker with a proven track record as an award-winning Lecturer in Criminal Justice. Holding a fully funded PhD in Criminology, she transitioned into the field of cyber security, driven by a deep interest in the complexities of cyber crime and the evolving threat landscape.
As a published author, Amy excels at translating complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language, supporting clients to build their capabilities in cyber incident preparedness and response. Her dedication to continuous learning and professional development ensures she remains at the forefront of a fast-moving cyber environment.
Janette previously spent 17 years in local government, undertaking roles from event organising to performance management and quality assurance.
Her most recent role was the strategic lead for the effective management of complaints across the local authority as well as the Health & Social Care Partnership. She also has prior experience as an office manager for a graphic design company as well as running her own outside catering business.
Julie holds an extensive background in sales and marketing with having held various leadership roles within the hospitality and golf – retail industries spanning over 20 years.
With experience in Canada, United States and the UK, Julie's portfolio includes a diverse group of stakeholders within local government, entertainment, rail and the utilities industries. Julie specialises in branding, partnerships and social media.

Gaven is a Professor in Cyber Security at the University of Manchester, a technology advisor, a Non-Executive Director, and an active advocate for online safety. Up until 2023, he was the Director General for Technology and Chief Technology Officer at Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ). In his seven years as CTO, he was responsible for the research and development of a wide range of critical UK national security capabilities. Whilst there, he held a range of technology leadership roles that invested in cutting-edge technological innovations to support GCHQ's rapidly evolving missions.
Fiona has enjoyed a 30+ year career in security and technology. She has a Computer Sciences degree from Cambridge, and joined the Ministry of Defence fast-stream, spending 10 years in numerous policy, project and technical roles before becoming Director of Science & Technology Policy. She co-founded CrowdVision, an AI-enabled data and insights company, measuring human activity in crowded places and led the business as CEO through its growth journey. She is currently Professor (of Practice) at the University of Lincoln, leading their work on applying AI in defence and security markets, and a NED at Ordnance Survey and Corps Security.
With more than 35 years of experience in IT, networking and cyber security, Phil has worked across numerous sectors with roles in strategy, policy, advisory, operations, design and build. He has held numerous global internal operations and customer-facing leadership roles, transforming, optimising service, improving maturity or leveraging innovation. He was seconded to the London 2012 Olympic programme to run the IP Perimeter security, the transformation and merger of BT’s internal and go-to-market security operations, and the work to help develop and provide cyber data analytics and big data capability into a major Australian retail bank. He has an MBA from Henley Management College, is a Certified Information Security Professional, a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Information Security, and is a Chartered Cyber Security Professional.
