James Ranklin

James is a highly experienced Operational Risk, Resilience and Compliance SME with a deep understanding of the FS regulatory landscape. James has built a strong reputation as a trusted advisor providing independent assurance and guidance on how to navigate and comply with various regulatory requirements and embed innovative solutions to support the ongoing compliance requirements.

James also has extensive experience in building and embedding best in class risk and control frameworks and enhancing the supporting artefacts, including policy, process documentation, guardrails etc. This includes identifying opportunities to enhance activities which support oversight and governance methodology, the ongoing monitoring of control effectiveness and identifying hotspots where colleague training and / or communication might be required.

During his time at Beyond Blue, James has leveraged his deep risk and compliance knowledge to deliver specific client asks relating to Identity Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Information Security, Data Privacy (including Data Loss Prevention (DLP)), as well as focused regulatory activities on NIS2 and how it applies to the UK manufacturing sector.  

Prior to joining Beyond Blue James spent 25 years working in the Financial Services sector, primarily in leadership roles across various non-financial risk disciplines.

James is also a qualified mentor who over the years has supported multiple start-ups and charitable organisations working across the third sector.
